All Bermudagrasses and Zoysiagrasses are easily established by sprigging. Sprigging is the most practical method of establishment for large areas such as golf courses and athletic fields. A grass sprig consist of a stem or rhizome segment with at least one node or a crown (multiple nodes), and any leaves, roots that might be attached to the node. In most cases, 3 or more nodes are found on a single sprig. There are 2 methods of Sprigging; No Till Rowplanting, which is used when doing conversions or to repair winterkill. The method of Rowplanting funnels sprigs down every 6 inches. Secondly, Broadcasting, this is a method used where the soil has been prepared. Sprigs are metered out and crimped in every 3 inches.

Pallet

Pallet: Each pallet consist of 56 sq. yards., stacked on a wooden pallet, and each sq. yard is cut in a roll measuring 18" x 72". The weight of each pallet (stacked 4’ x 4’ x 4.5") is approximately 1200 lbs. We can deliver 22 pallets (1232 sq. yds.) on each truck.

Big Roll sod is cut 42" wide (two pieces each 21" wide for flexibility) by specially designed and configured equipment. Average length is 80 linear feet or 31 sq. yards.

Benefits

Speed – (up to 5000 sq. feet per hour, per 3 person crew).
Cost Effectiveness – (Greatly reduces labor cost).
Greater Performance – (less stress on grass).
Ease of Installation – (a tractor and a special adapter for laying the sod does most of the work).
